DSEmbedded 2.0: Advancing Data Protection Literacy in Switzerland

Reto Bürgin joins the Swiss Data Anonymization Competence Center as part of the swissuniversities-funded project DSEmbedded 2.0. We’re happy that he’s joining and look forward to working with him. DSEmbedded 2.0 takes a comprehensive approach to promoting data protection literacy and includes the following key activities:

• Development of guidelines and video tutorials for data anonymization in research and education
• Organization of workshops to raise awareness and provide training for professionals
• Creation of illustrative examples demonstrating specific anonymization methods and techniques
• Establishment of a pilot service to advise and support researchers in data anonymization
• Evaluation of help tools to simplify data anonymization for non-experts, e.g. evaluating the use of generative AI algorithms for selected anonymization steps

The participation of Reto Bürgin in the Swiss Data Anonymization Competence Center fosters networking with researchers on the topic outside of ZHAW and the swissuniversities project DSEmbedded 2.0 and thus improves the quality of this project.
